Worming, Flea and Tick Information

Today in veterinary medicine we have very effective and safe products to eliminate internal parasites such as roundworms, hookworms, whipworms and tapeworms.  For puppies and kittens we use various products in 3 week intervals to eliminate these parasites.  In dogs, Iverhart® will provide global worming with one product.  In kittens, we use a variety of products to cover earmites, roundworms, hookworms, whipworms and tapeworms (Interceptor®, Drontal®, Revolution®).  Exotic animals have species unique protocols for given parasite.

Demodex Protocols

While there are a number of products available for use with dogs with generalized demodex, we have found the traditional Mitaban® dip to be the most effective both for cure and cost.  Generally, we do two bathes three weeks apart. For dogs with small affected areas, there is a local product that can be used. We do skin scrapes following treatment to ensure these mites are gone.

Fleas and Tick Eradication

We offer clients a wide variety of products based on species, risk factors and household situation.  We offer Revolution®, Frontline Plus® and Advantage® either at the hospital or through our on-line pharmacy, Vet Centric.  Exotic animals have special considerations with some of these products, so please consult with use before applying these products to rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, or other exotic pets.  We carry Knock-Out®, a premise spray, for clients who find that their homes are infested with ectoparasites.

All Completed programs receive 10% off the price of either a spay or neuter provided the surgery is completed by six months of age. If microchipped at surgery, a 10% discount on the price of the chip will also be given. These discounts are additional to the amounts listed above —even more savings!

Programs are paid in advance and completed on an agreed upon schedule that is completed by the time your puppy is 16 weeks of age. Any missed services will be charged at the regular rate. Any medical conditions or medications, with the exception of the Interceptor® or Iverhart®, will be additional.

We accept all major credit cards and work extensively
with various pet insurance companies to assist our clients.
