By title I am the Room Assistant. My job is to assist any of the staff with a multitude of tasks such as animal restraint, vaccines, lab work, and even customer service. I am also responsible for keeping the exam rooms stocked and clean, which is a challenge for anyone when pet hair is involved!
I also do the pictures and postings on Petfinders.com of animals we have up for adoption. I love the work I do because I get to associate with animals, and other people that love animals, all day long. Who doesn’t like to talk about animals?
 I was trained in forestry and have an Associate of Applied Science Degree in that field. I worked for ten years in forestry and wild land firefighting but, while spending my days outside was a joy, I developed a severe allergy to bees and had to try a new career. This job was an experiment that has turned out to be a great opportunity to learn new skills and spend my days with wonderful people.
I have my own pets; a lab mix named Panda, a cat named Shadow and a goldfish named Bob. In my spare time, I enjoy doing anything outdoors, but mostly mountain biking with my husband.
